Hello folks,

So it's the middle of the summer, and here in Finland it's bright all the time.. the sun just sets for a few hours in the middle of the night, and then rises again around 2-3 or something.. Very Happy Strange. Well in the winter it'll be the opposite, with a bit of normality in between.

Anyhow, we'll be playing at Nummirock tomorrow, a midsummer / metal fest about 300km from here.. so today we'll still have some rehearsals, and leave tomorrow morning towards the festival.

Should be fun. The only problem is that the weather seems to suck quite a bit.. it's been sunny last few weeks, but now it's just clouds and the feeling of soon-to-come rain.. so maybe it'll rain the whole weekend.. we'll see.. We'll have a good time anyway Very Happy

Anyway, wish you all a nice midsummer (Juhannus in Finnish). We'll be rocking in Nummirock, and then at Tuska afterparty next weekend on Saturday.

Seeya laters,

-T

I was there in 2006. It's a rather small festival, in the middle of nowhere but right at a lake. One of the stages is right at the lake with surrounding trees and it's just plain fun. Plus, it stays bright all night there, even though the sun sets for about 3 or 4 hours.

Well.. that's kinda why it's called Nummirock; Nummi is the finnish word for heath.. and it's obviously far enough in the north that it doesn't really get dark.. Had it once when I was at the summer cotage of my dad's ex partner's mum (he had after my real mum).. I went out to the platform for the boat at the lake. that was around 8 or 9 p.m. and my dad came down to the sauna cotage at 10 p.m. to read... he kept reading until 2 a.m. without any light. At that point he said something like: "Well, I think it's slowly time to go to sleep." and I asked why, he answered. "It's almost 2 a.m." and I'm still fascinated about it that it can stay light that long
